We invite visitors to share our 2003 and 2004 trips to New Zealand and Australia. In 2004 we stopped over in Hawaii for a few days and thus you will find a few pictures of Oahu in one of the collections. Several 2003 pictures will reflect a 2002 date since I set the year incorrectly when I bought the camera. Further, the time of day for 2003 photos will often be incorrect since I forgot to change the time as we changed time zones. Photos will be added regularly until the total reaches about 750 or 250 mb. Then, a collection will be deleted and a new one added periodically until approximately 2,000 of our 11,400 photos have been exhibited.
We hope you enjoy viewing them as much as we enjoyed the opportunities we had over the two years to take them. We will also try to include maps so that viewers can see the exact areas where the photos were taken.

Did we mind leaving the snow behind? Not at all.

 | February 1st, 2004 to February 4th, 2004 | Oahu Hawaii
We decided to stop in Hawaii to break up the flight to NZ. We did not feel like staying in a concrete jungle so we avoided Waikiki and headed for the north east corner of the Island. That may have been a mistake because our hotel was terrible. With the exception of a lousy hotel we did enjoy the visit, but with hindsight, we would have preferred to have had three more days in NZ and tackled Hawaii (including other islands) more thoroughly in the future.

 | February 8th, 2004 | Doubtful Sound, New Zealand
We departed Hawai at midnight on Feb 4 and arrived in Auckland NZ early Friday morning, Feb 6 (crossing the dateline). We cleared customs and immigration and then transferred to the domestic terminal for a flight to Queenstown, arriving there at about 1:30 PM. On Saturday we checked the weather forecast and since the weather for Sunday was promising, we had our Doubtful Sound cruise moved to Sunday from Monday. http://www.realjourneys.co.nz/Main/Doubtfuldaytime/ It was difficult selecting these photos from over 200 taken during the day.

 | March 18th, 2004 to March 19th, 2004 | Australia - Great Ocean Road
One of the most beautiful 13 miles in the world. The air blowing up from the Antarctic is very clear and refreshing. One can just sit and soak up these views all day long - and we did. In our view the most attractive section of the Great Ocean Road is this 13 mile stretch between the 12 Apostles on the east and The Grotto and London Bridge on the West.
