We cleared customs and immigration and then transferred to the domestic terminal for a flight to Queenstown, arriving there at about 1:30 PM. We did not feel like staying in a concrete jungle so we avoided Waikiki and headed for the north east corner of the Island. That may have been a mistake because our hotel was terrible. With the exception of a lousy hotel we did enjoy the visit, but with hindsight, we would have preferred to have had three more days in NZ and tackled Hawaii (including other islands) more thoroughly in the future. The air blowing up from the Antarctic is very clear and refreshing. One can just sit and soak up these views all day long - and we did. In our view the most attractive section of the Great Ocean Road is this 13 mile stretch between the 12 Apostles on the east and The Grotto and London Bridge on the West.
